1929
  Led by Mr E.A. Murphy, Dunlop scientists invent Dunlopillo latex foam. Dunlopillo is the first of its kind to be used to pad seats in public trams, trains and trolleybuses. The aircraft industry welcomes latex foam to pad cockpits and seats as well.
 
1931
  The first latex mattresses are made. It is a huge success as they are the first mattresses that do not need to be plumped, or turned to stay fresh and maintain their shape.
 
1954
  Dr Theo Lammers from the Institute of Hygiene, Gutenburg University, proves that latex foam has exceptionally high anti-bacterial properties, and is hygienically ideal for mattresses, superior to all existing materials.

1955
  Dunlopillo achieves national fame when its latex is used to make a special seat for Donald Campbell's waterspeed record-breaking craft, the Bluebird.
 
1950's
  Dunlopillo's latex seats are installed in the refurbished Houses of Parliament.
 
1960's
  With the installation of a highly advanced manufacturing system to produce Talalay Latex, Dunlopillo UK becomes the world's leading brand of Talalay Latex mattresses.
 
1987
  Shirley Institute of Manchester reveals that Dunlopillo UK Talalay Latex has twice the ability to kill bed bugs compared to interior spring core mattresses.
 
1991
  Dunlopillo is awarded the Queen's Award for export achievement.
 
1995
  Research from the University of Leeds (UK), Department of Microbiology confirms that Dunlopillo UK Talalay Latex is capable of killing 1010 bacteria cells.
 
1990's
  Dunlopillo is the first in Singapore to combine nature's perfect utilisation of space, the honeycomb arrangement, with its Individual Pocketed Spring (IPS) System to develop a range of spring mattresses that offers superior support for a better night's sleep.
 
2004
  The Sime Darby Group, through its wholly owned subsidiary Dunlopillo Holdings Sdn. Bhd., assumes ownership of the Dunlopillo trademark in 45 countries. Sime Darby is Malaysia's leading multinational and one of South East Asia's largest conglomerates.
 
Today
  One of the best known bedding brands in the world, Dunlopillo is the authority and leading manufacturer of latex.
